|Solving complex security challenges |
We treat our customers as partners and understand that while some of their problems need routine fixes, others are more complicated and require a more customized approach. We work closely with our customersto understand their distinctive needs and collaborate with them on tailored, comprehensive solutions.
That’s significant when you consider that our portfolio has millions of unique stock keeping units, encompassing everything from access control products and systems to locks, locksets, door closers, exit devices and steel doors. We even design and install video analytics and time, attendance and workforce productivity solutions for businesses and governments.
Our brands span the globe from the Americas to our Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) and Asia-Pacific regions. Our strategic brands include Schlage, Von Duprin, LCN, CISA and Interflex.
At the coreof our business is the knowledge and experience of the people behind our brands – and the real and lasting solutions they create. In short, that’s the difference between solving problems and simply providing products.
It’s the knowledge, skills and experience of our people first– followed by the quality of our products – that keepsour customers coming back to us.Regardless of where we work, our passion around our powerful brands and our commitmentto our customers is unwavering. We are defined as employees by our drive to fully understand our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.
We do this every day, when we partner with our commercial and residential customers to help them navigate their toughest security challenges, including:
Demanding deadlines. Our commercial customers are bound to exacting construction schedules. They count on the operational excellence – our flexibility, nimbleness and creativity – that allows us to custom-configure thousands of SKUs to meet the needs of a project and deliver them promptly.
Shifting consumer preferences. On the residential side of our business, the end-users of our products – homeowners and property owners – trust our brands and look for them by name.Because their preferences constantly fluctuate, ourretail buyersare keenly aware of the need to keep enticingthem withfresh, new products andfeatures to fit modern lifestyles. That’s why we’rebringing retailers smarter security solutions and electronic offerings that integrate into the way people live and work today.
Increased complexity.Safety and securitytoday aren’t about one product or one solution – they’re about increasingly complex systems of protection. Natural disasters are becoming more frequent and severe, and unpredictable safety threats have become an unfortunate reality in the modern world. These threats require security products and systems that work together in harmony and are immediately responsive and adaptable in the face of escalating danger. For example, our electronic locks and access control systems work together to control who gets out, but also – and sometimes more importantly depending on the crisis – who gets sealed safely inside.
Technology shifts. One of the downsides of rapidly-evolving technology is that security systems relying on new technologies can quickly become obsolete if they’re not designed to adapt. We create products with anopen architecture so that systems last longer, can be easily maintained and upgraded, and will integrate seamlessly with new technologies in the future – regardless of where those technologies may originate.
A multiplicity of codes. A global increase in urbanization and affluence has led to heightened awareness of security standards. Because of this, the security world today is an intricate maze of codes and regulations. We not only help our customers adhere to these codes and standards – we help advocate for and raise those standards in the first place. We have hundreds of global safety and security experts on staff, trained to provide advice and write specifications for builders, architects, engineers and security consultants. Our specification writers often consult with these partners on the front-end of a project to help them determine what their building’s specifications should be, so that together we canensure the effectiveness of the security solution being installedand confirm that it adheres to all regulatory policies. We also help establish those policies with regulators in the first place and participate in many of the most influential standard-setting bodies around the world. Our Safety and Security Institute in Chinaraises public awareness of security challenges and works with industry professionals, governments and regulatory bodies to develop and improvesafety and security standards in that country.
Our devotion to our customers means putting ourselves in their shoes and solving their problems. As the security needs of the world continue toevolve, we’ll be on the front lines partnering with our customers and helping them navigate the change.
Unlocking our collective potential
Although we expect Allegion to unlock inherent value for all Ingersoll Rand shareholders, becoming a standalone company is more than a financial event; it is a pivotal moment that marks the birth of our new company.
Our independence will add to what makes us great today. Moreover, it will provide us with an opportunity to reflect, re-energize and reset as we establish our own unique mission and values, and work to make our strategic business plans a reality. We expect to have the resources to make the kind of investments in our business that will help us grow. We will also be able to focus even more intently on – and respond even faster to –our customers’ needs.
The strategic investments we intend to make willunlockour potential to expand into new areas of the world and broaden the range of capabilities and products we offer.
This is an opportunity to carry forward the best of Allegion’s heritage, expertise and entrepreneurial roots while shifting our approach to be bold and more aggressive at capitalizing on major trends in commercial and residential security.
